The Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD) is a dynamic network focused on research, education, training and policy advice across disciplines.

To realize its vision of Access to high-quality health care for all, AIGHD closely collaborates with implementing partners and with organizations from the public and private sectors around the globe.

The AIGHD network has three academic parent institutions (AMC, UvA and VU), and a number of other constituents, such as the PharmAccess Group, the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) and Health(e)Foundation. AIGHD operates in over 15 countries, most of which are in Sub-Saharan Africa. It has offices in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Kampala (Uganda), Bangkok (Thailand), and Ilorin (Nigeria). AIGHD takes on a problem-oriented approach. Our organization transcends the boundaries of traditional academic disciplines and integrates three fundamental activities into one institute: research on Global Health; education and capacity building; policy advising and impact.
